Volleyball

Volleyball has been played in BGS since its establishment in 1991. We are an enthusiastic and ever growing group, with training at multiple levels and with an intense calendar of competitions in Belgium and abroad.

The club regularly participates in international LGBTQI+ competitions such as EuroGames and Gay Games as well as in other tournaments around Europe. Every year in September we organise and host our own volleyball tournament in the framework of the Brussels Games.

Since 2007 BGS volleyball has been participating in the Brussels and Walloon Brabant amateur championship, organized by the Brabant AIF. We are currently participating with 4 teams at 3 different levels. There is also a beginners’ team open for those who want to learn how to play.

We strongly believe in team spirit and in an inclusive approach to volleyball, regardless of your sex, sexual orientation or volleyball abilities.

Due to popularity and limited capacities our teams are currently full. Do check this page regularly. If places become available, we will announce them here, and you can then register for our waiting list by sending an email to volleyball@bgs.org. We will be able to welcome new members in September, January and April.
